Committee Meeting 3
July 27, 2021

Planning a climate-ready future for 2 multi-use piers, nearly 7 acres of park, and more than 1,000 feet of shoreline in the heart of Rockland.
Preliminary Design
Marine Infrastructure & Landside Improvements
Overview
This spring, the City completed a climate-ready Conceptual Design and Roadmap for the Downtown Waterfront using a consensus-building stakeholder approach that brought stakeholders together around a common vision. The resulting Conceptual Design has been endorsed by diverse stakeholders and committees, site users, project neighbors, the City's Harbor Management Commission, and City Council.
The City is currently in the Preliminary Engineering phase of this Downtown Waterfront Project, which is split into two parts - marine and landside. Preliminary Engineering of the marine infrastructure (including the 2 multi-use piers, seawall, and a boardwalk that will connect them) was completed in late April 2023. The landside preliminary engineering effort is underway.
